What's in the bottle
Quick Answers
Does it leave a white cast?
No. The sheer tint blends into every skin tone, which is the usual reason tweens refuse mineral sunscreen.
Is mineral better for kids?
For sensitive skin, dermatologists usually recommend mineral. Sun-Sational uses zinc oxide only.
Is SPF 30 enough?
The AAD recommends broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Applying enough and reapplying matters more than a higher number.
Is it just for the beach?
No, it's a daily face sunscreen. Recess, P.E. and the walk to school add up.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Clinically tested for sensitive skin by Eurofins CRL. No synthetic fragrance and no chemical UV filters.

Clinical Testing
Sun-Sational is clinically tested for sensitive skin.
Repeated Insult Patch Test, Eurofins CRL, 113 participants with self-perceived sensitive skin. No dermal irritation or sensitization observed. Study ECRLNJ2025-0620-04.
See the clinical studiesNo chemical UV filters, parabens, sulfates or synthetic fragrance.
How to use
EVERY MORNING
Last step
After Smooth Operator, 15 minutes before going outside. School days included, all year.
OUTDOORS
Every two hours
Reapply every two hours while they're out, and immediately after swimming or sweating, since this is not a water-resistant formula.
SPORTS AND SWIM
Before, then after
Apply 15 minutes before. Reapply after two hours or after water.
Step by step
1. After Smooth Operator, squeeze a nickel-sized amount, about a quarter teaspoon, for the face.
2. Dot on forehead, both cheeks, nose and chin, then blend outward to the ears and hairline.
3. Don't skip the ears and the back of the neck.
4. Wait 15 minutes before going outside.
5. Reapply every two hours outdoors, and right after swimming or sweating.
Most people apply about half of what they need. A nickel-sized amount is the full dose for a face.
What to expect
Sunscreen alone doesn't prevent sunburn or skin damage on long days outdoors. Add a hat, shade between 10am and 4pm, and a rash guard in the water.

These are the years when skin starts changing and a first routine starts to make sense.
Ages 8 to 9: Sunscreen is the one skincare product every pediatrician agrees on at this age. The goal is a face sunscreen the child will let you apply, and the tint is why they let you.
Ages 10 to 11: Recess, sports and the walk to school add up. Make it the last step after moisturizer every morning.
Ages 12 to 13: Daily SPF is the habit that matters most for skin later, and mineral filters don't sting eyes during sports.
